Lubricating oil is often required and may produce oil vapor, making it unsuitable for some applications, especially processing environments that are sensitive to oil contamination.

Factors to consider in CNC machine tool applications:


Processing requirements: If the processing requirements are very sensitive to oil contamination and the vacuum requirements are not particularly high, a vortex vacuum pump may be more suitable.


Vacuum degree requirements: If the processing process requires a higher vacuum degree, especially in processing that requires fine workpiece surfaces, a rotary vane vacuum pump may be more suitable.

Maintenance costs: Scroll vacuum pumps generally have lower maintenance costs because they do not require lubricating oil, while rotary vane vacuum pumps may require more frequent maintenance.


Cost considerations: Scroll vacuum pumps are generally relatively low in cost and may be suitable for some cost-sensitive applications.
